Emily Weitzman is a writer, educator, performer, and interdisciplinary artist from New York.

She is a lecturer in writing at Columbia University. She teaches courses focused on writing essays about performance.

In 2024, her one woman show FURNITURE BOYS premiered off-broadway at SoHo Playhouse and was a finalist in the SoHo Playhouse Lighthouse Series.

FURNITURE BOYS was awarded the 2024 Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Award. The show’s premiere in Canada was called a “bizarre absurdist comedy” that is “weirdly poignant,” “one-of-a-kind,” "loopily, luminously charming" and “imaginative, thoughtful, playful, hilarious and relentlessly, infectiously joyous.”

Through her job as a Columbia lecturer, Emily is working on the intersection of her writing, performance, and art with Columbia’s Oral History Master’s Program. In the summer of 2024, she studied clown and physical theater with Pig Iron.
